MILAM COUNTY, Texas — A major dealer of drugs was sentenced to 45 years in prison, according to the Milam County District Attorney's Office.
On Thursday, a judge sentenced 45-year-old Phillip Martin Pounder, of Rockdale, to prison for seven separate counts of drug manufacturing and distribution charges. He pled guilty to the indictments on Oct. 13.
According to the Milam County District Attorney's Office, Pounder boasted that he was the major drug supplier in the county, and distributed a wide range of substances, including methamphetamines, heroin, cocaine, and fentanyl. In 2022, fentanyl took a role in the deaths of 22 people in Bell County.
Pounder's jail time will be served in the custody of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
