ROCKDALE, Texas — One person has died and another was taken to the hospital after allegedly being shot by a 16-year-old in Rockdale, according to police.
According to a release from the Rockdale Police Department, officers responded to a shots fired call at a home in the 400 block of East 4th Street around 7:23 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16.
When officers arrived, they reportedly found one person, identified as 20-year-old Trevor Everage, who had been shot multiple times.
Shortly after, police said another victim, identified as 22-year-old Christopher Flores, was found in the 200 block of 4th Street, also having been shot multiple times.
Both victims were taken to the Rockdale Airport and airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, police said. Rockdale PD said Flores died of his wounds at the airport.
Rockdale PD stated they believe the shooting was targeted and was in regard to an attempted robbery. Arrest warrants have reportedly been issued for a 16-year-old suspect for Capital Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Police did not release the suspect's name due to their age.
The Milam County Sheriff's Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Parks & Wildlife and Milam County Pct 4 Constable reportedly assisted in the investigation.
