KILLEEN, Texas — A 15-year-old is in "serious but stable condition" after being shot in Killeen Wednesday evening.
According to Killeen Police, that evening at 8:18 p.m. they went to investigate a report of a person being shot in the 1700 block of Shoemaker Drive. When officers arrived, they confirmed the call by finding a juvenile female who had been shot. She was given first aid until paramedics arrived and later taken by helicopter to Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple.
Cars and pedestrians were temporarily restricted from entering the area from Lake Road to Willowbend Drive while first responders were on scene, but the roadways have since reopened.
Police say the juvenile is in "serious but stable condition."
Killeen PD Robbery/Homicide Unit Detectives are asking the public to come forward with any information related to the shooting between 8 and 8:30 p.m., including any videos or security footage of the area where the shooting occurred.
