BELL COUNTY, Texas — 11 pounds of narcotics are off the streets of Bell County following an arrest by Killeen PD on Thursday.
The day before, on Wednesday, Killeen Police Department Organized Crime Unit detectives were made aware about drugs that were headed to Killeen from Houston. The detectives were able to find the car that was transporting the illegal substances as it had entered through Temple and stopped them with the help of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The car was stopped in the 2000 block of Airport Road in Temple, where a K9 dog did an inspection for the drugs. The search by K9 Kenzi informed officers that there were illegal substances, and the driver and passenger were both arrested and taken into custody in the Killeen City Jail.
The identities of the driver and passenger arrested were not revealed.
An investigation into the case is ongoing, according to Killeen PD.
