When and where to find free meals for Thanksgiving in Central Texas

Find out where you and your neighbors can find free meals leading up to and on Thanksgiving in Central Texas.

CENTRAL, Texas — The season of giving is here and so are the many community resources that will have free meals on or leading up to Thanksgiving in Central Texas.

Locations that will provide access to free food in CTX:

Temple:

Location: Feed My Sheep

116 W Avenue G, Temple, TX 76504

When: Thanksgiving day from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Feed My Sheep serves the community of Temple, Texas with varying hours throughout the week. To find those hours and more information, click here.

Location: Churches Touching Lives of Christ

702 W. Ave. G, Temple, Tx. 76504 

When: Tuesdays, 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Saturdays,  8:30 am - 11:00 am

Bring a photo ID and/or proof of address in Bell County. At this time the church is using a drive through process.  Clients line up on 13th Street and will meet volunteers in front of the building.

Waco:

Location: Antioch Church

When: Tuesday, November 21, 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Location: La Vega High School

When: Wednesday, November 22, 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Location: Caritas

300 South 15th St., Waco, Texas 76701

Caritas Office Hours of Operation Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Please do not knock on the door to gain entry. If you have an appointment scheduled with the Veterans Case Manager, Intensive Case Manager, Federal Benefits Specialist, or you would like to shop in Mama Lovies Closet, please call (254) 753-4593.

Mama Lovies Closet hours of operation: Tuesday and Thursday 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Federal Benefits Specialist hours of operation: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Case Management (Veterans and Intensive) hours of operation: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Pantry Hours of Operation

Pantry Food Distribution hours begin at 8:30 a.m. Food distribution tickets will be issued to clients until we reach our maximum capacity.  Once capacity has been met no more food distribution tickets will be issued until 1:00 p.m.

Afternoon Pantry Food Distribution hours begin at 1:00 p.m. Food distribution tickets will be issued to clients until we reach our maximum capacity.  Once capacity has been met no more food distribution tickets will be issued for the remainder of the day.

The Caritas Food Pantry is set up to be a supplement to your household food needs. The Caritas Food Pantry may not satisfy all of your household food needs. If further assistance is needed a list of resources will be provided to you upon request.

Killeen:
