UPDATE: Water line repaired after being hit in Meridian

The City said it is "a good idea" to run water through an outside faucet before using.

MERIDIAN, Texas — UPDATE: The City of Meridian has announced that repairs on the water line have been completed, and water should be restored. 

The City recommended running water through an outside faucet before using.

A major 12" water line was shut off in Meridian after being hit during construction, the City announced in a post on social media on Thursday, July 25.

The City of Meridian stated around 2 p.m. the water would be shut off "immediately".

The outage affected "everyone", including residents, businesses and restaurants from the bridge at the Bosque River up to Meridian Heights, said the City.

Highway 6 and Highway 22 reportedly did not have water.
