WACO, Texas — Waco Police officers "stitched and served" at a community outreach event at a senior living community on Oct. 27.
The Waco Police Department shared a post about their "Crochet with a Cop" event on social media, saying that officers had spent time with residents at The Delaney at Lake Waco as part of an initiative to foster community connections.
Waco PD said the event was "filled with laughter" and offered a "relaxing environment" where residents could talk with officers while enjoying beloved traditions.
"After an event filled with laughter, we hear that knitting and quilting are up next on the agenda," Waco PD said in the post. "We are honored to 'Stitch and Serve'".
