WACO, Texas — The Waco Police Department has promoted Sergeant Chris Eaton to Commander. In his new role, Eaton will be supervising midnight patrol with three other Sergeants.
A Waco native, Eaton moved his career and his family back to his hometown in 2012 and has been with Waco PD since. He first served on the midnight patrol until he was transferred to detectives where he specialized in crimes against children. Eaton was then promoted to Sergeant and has experience supervising midnight patrol, the crime scene unit and dayshift patrol.
Before his time with the Waco Police Department, Eaton served seven years in Arkansas as a patrol officer totaling 20 years of police experience.
In Arkansas, he was recognized by Governor Beebe and the DEA for creating the website artakeback.org, which is still in operation today. Eaton has also assisted in the conviction of hundreds of felonies and a handful of lifetime convictions.
A father of three, Eaton has been married to his wife Tamara for 25 years. He spends his free time showing animals with his kids in FFA, band boosters and his Masonic Lodge.
