KILLEEN, Texas — Volunteers came together in Killeen on Saturday, March 9 for Love Your Park Day, helping to clean up and add "creative touches" to A.A. Lane Neighborhood Park.
According to the City of Killeen, volunteers helped to clean up the park and add a fresh new paint job to the concrete bleachers from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The City thanked the Youth Advisory Commission, Adopt-A-Park organizations and "all the volunteers who dedicated their Saturday to give back to the parks we love".
The City of Killeen said Love Your Park Day is a community event where members of the community come together to volunteer and improve local parks. The annual event "fosters community pride, environmental stewardship and civic engagement", according to the City.
The City touts Love Your Park Day as a way for residents to connect while making a difference in their neighborhoods.
A.A. Lane Neighborhood Park is located at 400 48th St. in Killeen, TX, according to the City, and features baseball and softball facilities, a basketball court, free shelters, an open play area, pavilion rentals, picnic units, a playground and a tennis court.
