Central Texans donate to help 6 News 'Fill the Cars' at Taking Care of Teachers supply drive

6 News helped gather school supplies for teachers at drop-off locations around Central Texas on Aug. 8.

WACO, Texas — The Taking Care of Teachers Supply Drive is back for another year where KCEN 6 News is making sure teachers have what they need for their classrooms this year, sponsored by Greg May Honda.

Employee Dalton Turner has worked at the dealership for nearly 20 years. His family has a background in teaching and emphasized how much these donations can help teachers.

"My grandmother taught in East Texas for 41 years. My mom taught in Waco for 45 years. My little sister taught in China Spring," Turner said. "It's everything, they don't have to go out and do it themselves if we can help out."

Supplies could be delivered until 7 p.m., in hopes to "Fill the Cars" at three locations -- Waco, Temple & Killeen -- with supplies for teachers in need!

Below, you will find information where the drop-off locations we will be!

Supply Drive Locations

  • Greg May Honda -- 1601 W. Loop 340, Waco
  • Central Fire Station -- 210 N. 3rd St., Temple
  • Central Fire Station -- 201 N. 28th St., Killeen

*Note that we are not filling up teachers' vehicles, but rather a vehicle on sight with school supplies. The supplies will then be distributed at a later date within Waco, Killeen and Temple ISDs.
