HILLSBORO, Texas — Head's up Buc-ee's lovers! Excitement is in the air, and that's because a new Buc-ee's in Hillsboro opened up on April 21.
The new location is now the largest gas station in Texas occupying 74,000 square feet and offering 120 fueling positions.
"We've been waiting weeks and months for this," Buc-ee's pitmaster, Randy Pauly, said. "Today is the day we get to truly invite the community to our home."
Buc-ee's fans finally have the chance to enjoy their beaver nuggets in Hillsboro. It is something that founder of Buc-ee's is more than excited for.
"I'll tell you of all the things that we do in this company, this is my favorite part," Arch “Beaver” Aplin III, founder of Buc-ee's, said.
Of course, Buc-ee's lovers across the country are excited too.
"I came down just for this opening all the way to Hillsboro from Washington," Brooke Nyhus said.
Visitors also came in from Dallas.
"We had to stop and come over to see and oh my, this is a fantastic opening," Michelle McGowan said.
Doors opened bright and early at 6 a.m.. Judy Martin and her family were the first ones to purchase something in the new Hillsboro Buc-ee's.
On top of that, they recently completed, "the trip of a lifetime," Martin says.
"We went to every single Buc-ee's in the state of Texas," Martin told 6 News. "It was so much fun. I mapped it all out before we went and we had to make sure we made it to every single one of them."
They traveled to a total of 36 Buc-ee's during spring break of 2023 in just one week and made lasting memories. Now, they can proudly say have been to all 37 locations in Texas.
