Temple Police Department receives gift donations for Victim Services

The Bell County Master Gardeners Group and Aztec Pet Hospital Harker Heights made the donation for the Lila's Kids program.

TEMPLE, Texas — Two Central Texas organizations made a generous donation to the Temple Police Department's Victim Services this December.

The Bell County Master Gardeners Group and Aztec Pet Hospital Harker Heights donated 92 backpacks filled with things like stuffed animals, toys, blankets and hygiene items to Temple PD as part of the department's Lila's Kids program.

According to Temple PD, Lila's Kids was created as a way to let citizens donate comfort items for officers and detectives to give to children experiencing trauma from crime, loss or other difficult events.

"Your generosity brings care and hope to children in our community," said Temple PD in a social media post thanking the organizations for the donation. "We’re grateful for your support!"
