Temple Fire and Rescue respond to structure collapse, no injuries reported

The cause of the foundation movement is not known at this time, and no other information has been given.

TEMPLE, Texas —  Temple Fire and Rescue responded to a structure collapse with entrapment in Temple, on Thursday, June 27.

Temple Fire and Rescue said the collapse happened in the area of 8 W. Lamar St at around 7:29 p.m., and that it was a single-story residential structure that had fallen from its pier and beam foundation.

Crews reportedly found a homeowner and a family pet who had been trapped by shifting walls inside the house. Temple Fire and Rescue said they were able to free the trapped homeowner and their pet.

According to Temple Fire and Rescue, there were no reported injuries.

Members of Temple Fire and Rescues’ Special Operations Team braced up the existing foundation blocks and added a few supporting members where load bearing beams had fallen, crews said.  

Alongside Temple Police and Temple EMS, Temple Fire and Rescue said they responded to the scene with five units and nine personnel. 

The cause of the foundation movement is not known at this time, and no other information has been given.
