Cheers! | Temple designated as Brew City by Texas Craft Brewers Guild

As a member of the program, the City said it "affirms its dedication" to promoting craft beer tourism and fostering economic growth for local businesses.

TEMPLE, Texas — The City of Temple is raising a glass after receiving a special honor, a designation as a Bew City by the Texas Craft Brewers Guild.

According to the City of Temple, the city began participating in the program on Aug. 1, "in celebration of the city’s reputation as a growing hub for local craft beer enthusiasts and travelers alike."

As a member of the program, the City said it "affirms its dedication" to promoting craft beer tourism and fostering economic growth for local hospitality and manufacturing businesses.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for the City of Temple to expand and thrive in the brewery industry,” said Teresa Anderson, Destination Marketing Division Director for the City of Temple. “We are thrilled to continue welcoming locals and visitors to the many community attractions and breweries our city has to offer.”

The City of Temple said the city offers a "unique experience" with local craft brews and plenty of space for other incoming brews.

The Texas Craft Brewers Guild started the Brew City, Texas program in March 2024. According to the Guild, Texas has over 400 breweries and craft beer contributes over $4.5 billion to the state economy each year while supporting more than 30,000 jobs.

"The City of Temple joins neighboring cities like Killeen and Waco united in their mission to showcase the best of Texas craft beer and enhance economic opportunities for local businesses," the City stated in a release.

The City of Temple said it looks forward to "continuing to raise the bar for craft beer excellence" and welcoming visitors to experience what the city has to offer through collaborative marketing, education and outreach efforts with the Brew City, Texas program.
