The Temple Community Clinic is intended to deliver quality care to uninsured or underinsured patients in the community.

TEMPLE, Texas — The new Temple Community Clinic is officially open for business.

On Monday, Jan. 22, the Temple Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the Grand Opening of the clinic. The clinic began taking patients in its new facility on Jan. 3.

Located at 1508 W. Ave. J in Temple, the Community Clinic is intended to deliver "quality care for the uninsured and underinsured within the healthcare gap" with the support of donors and community partners.

"By providing access to leading doctors, social work services and health and wellness education, [the clinic] treats the whole patient and delivers results for a healthier community," said the Chamber of Commerce in a social media post commemorating the opening.

According to the Temple Community Clinic website, the clinic had 4,556 appointments in 2022, seeing 1,534 unique patients with volunteers contributing 5,885 hours of service. The clinic reportedly had a total community benefit of over $7.7 million in 2022, according to the website.

Once eligibility is established, the Temple Community Clinic said patients can make appointments for chronic or acute care, prescription assistance and specialty clinics including cardiology, dental, dermatology, gastroenterology, gynecology, mental health, optometry and podiatry.
