Robinson Family Farm asking for volunteers to help clean up storm damage on June 16

Volunteers can reportedly enjoy free lunch and beer and wine from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

TEMPLE, Texas — As the Temple community continues to recover and rebuild after strong storms and tornadoes tore through the city in May, one local spot is bringing members of that community together to help clean up.

The Robinson Family Farm has announced it will hold a tornado clean up event on Sunday, June 16, inviting Central Texans to come help them clean up the farm.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring gloves, trailers and trucks, though children are encouraged not to attend as volunteers will be working with "a lot of debris with nails, screws, sharp edges and snakes have been more prevalent," said Helen Robinson, owner of the farm, in a post on social media.

According to Robinson, WAT THE TRUCK food truck will be on site to serve free lunches and Tangled Creek Wine & Biergarten will serve free wine and beer from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Those who would like to volunteer are asked to RSVP with Helen Robinson at 254-421-3186.

Clean up will begin at 9 a.m., said Robinson.

"One hour or five hours, anything would be appreciated," said Robinson.
