Central Texas businesses are asking for donations to support the Panhandle

Barnard Beef is accepting donations to send North

OGLESBY, Texas — Barnard Beef hosted a donation drop on March 3rd to send aid to the Panhandle. Blayr Barnard says the company will accept donations to send to the Panhandle as long as there is a need.

"They need hay. They need fencing supplies. They need hog wire, net wire, t-posts. They need milk replacer. They need cubes and alfalfa cubes," said Blayr Barnard of Barnard Beef.

Barnard has partnered with Craig Mauny of Mauny Farms to make the plans of philanthropy become possible. Mauny owns trucks and trailers that can take supplies and aid north to the Panhandle.

"We're going to try. We're not going to try. We are going to get all this stuff to Stinnett, to the Panhandle, to those guys there that lost everything," said Mauny.

6 News was there on March 3rd at the donation drop and saw Central Texans bring bales of hay, pallets of animal feed, packages of bottled water, and cash donations. A rancher that spoke with 6 News said he sold off his cattle last year but had leftover bales of hay that he knew ranchers in the Panhandle so desperately needed.

"But a lot of close friends and ranchers that we do know personally are up there," said Barnard, "Central Texas is about the same as the Panhandle. Which is everyone comes together and helps everyone else. If you have a problem they're going to be there to help you."
