Marlin Fire Department responds to early morning fire on Coleman Street

According to officials, a petal patch flower shop and a Marlin medical building that held records inside were both destroyed in the process.

MARLIN, Texas — A Marlin officer reports that a fire broke out on Coleman Street in Marlin, at 1 a.m. on Nov. 2, according to Marlin officials, there were no reported injuries in connection with the fire. 

According to Marlin officials, the fire was first first spotted by a deputy who immediately reported the blaze.

The fire started out on the 260 block of Coleman Street. According to officials, a petal patch flower shop and a Marlin medical building were both destroyed in the process.

According to Ford, a hospital administrator, zero medical records were destroyed in building. The building was used for storage and they didn’t lose any irreplaceable items. 

Officials believe that the fire might have started as an electrical fire, but are still investigating.  

Those who live in Marlin are asked to take different routes as Coleman Street will be closed.
