Lemonade Day to teach Waco youth about entrepreneurship on May 18

The event is intended to empower youth to learn about entrepreneurship by running their own lemonade stands.

WACO, Texas — When life gives you lemons...

Lemonade stands may soon pop up across Waco as Lemonade Day-Waco returns to the city on Saturday, May 18!

According to the organization, Lemonade Day is an event meant to "empower today's youth to be tomorrow's entrepreneurs" by giving children a chance to run and operate their own lemonade stand business.

Lemonade Day-Waco is part of The Cen-Tex African American Chamber of Commerce's newest Chamber initiative, Young CEOs.

Several Walmart "Sweet Spot" locations will reportedly host lemonade participants outside their stores on May 18.

Kids who register to participate in the event will reportedly receive a backpack with an Entrepreneur Workbook that contains 14 lessons on things like creating budgets, setting profit-making goals, serving customers and more.

The organization said participants also learn skills like goal-setting, problem-solving and gaining self-esteem. Kids also reportedly keep all the money they make.

More information about Lemonade Day-Waco, including locations and how to participate, can be found on their website at this link.
