KILLEEN, Texas — IT Girls, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young girls, is thrilled to announce its 2024 Kick-Off event, "EmpowHER," set for Saturday, June 8, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The event will take place at Long Branch Park, located at 1101 Branch Dr., adjacent to the skate park in Killeen.
Geared towards girls aged 10-17, along with their mothers, "EmpowHER" aims to cultivate self-discovery and foster sisterhood among attendees. The event promises an engaging afternoon filled with activities, including games, food and drinks, music, prizes, and giveaways. Additionally, a Restorative Circle, led by esteemed educators Dr. Keonna White and Nicola Gardere, will provide a nurturing space for reflection and discussion.
Since its beginning in 2016, IT Girls has served over 650 girls in central Texas, striving to empower, educate, and support them by offering access to education, mentoring, and resources.
The organization is committed to nurturing girls' leadership, academic, and personal skills while promoting gender equity and addressing pertinent issues affecting young girls.

Registration for the event is free, with onsite registration available on June 8th. Participants will also have the opportunity to sign up for priority registration for all IT Girls events in 2024.
