GATESVILLE, Texas — The Gatesville City Council announced changes in leadership at their meeting on Tuesday, May 14.
Scott Albert, the former City Manger, turned in his resignation, which is effective immediately. The resignation was accepted during the meeting.
Following Albert's departure, the Council moved to appoint Brad Hunt, the current Police Chief, as the Interim City Manager, effective on Wednesday, May 15.
Additionally, Mike Halsema, the Finance Director at the time, was appointed as the Interim Deputy City Manager, also effective May 15.
Also on May 15, Hunt appointed Lieutenant Cody Lee as the Interim Chief of Police, assuming the responsibilities previously held by Hunt.
Interim City Manager Brad Hunt expressed optimism about the city's direction under the new leadership. Hunt pledged to maintain transparency and efficiency, ensuring ongoing projects remain on course.
"I am look forward to working with our dedicated, experienced Department Heads to set a strong foundation for the city's future" Hunt said.
