Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful to unveil solar eclipse mural

According to the City, the mural was created by Rainbow Heart Studio and sponsored as an MLK Service Project of The Mission Continues Killeen Platoon.

COPPERAS COVE, Texas — Copperas Cove will soon unveil a stellar new addition to the community.

On Thursday, Feb. 22, Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful (KCCB) will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the unveiling of a new solar eclipse mural.

The event will be held at Star Group Veterans Helping Veterans, located at 202 S. 4th St. in Copperas Cove, at 5:15 p.m. The City of Copperas Cove said community members, local leaders and supporters are all invited to attend the ceremony.

The mural was created by Rainbow Heart Studio and sponsored as an MLK Service Project of The Mission Continues Killeen Platoon in collaboration with Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful, said the City.

"The Solar Eclipse mural project is not only a celebration of art but also a symbol of unity and hope within our community," said the City of Copperas Cove in a release. "Through the collaboration of The Mission Continues Killeen Platoon, and Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful, this mural serves as a testament to the power of teamwork and collective action in creating positive change.

"We are thrilled to unveil this beautiful mural, which not only adds to the aesthetic appeal of our community but also serves as a source of inspiration and pride for all who call Copperas Cove home," said Juanita Myers, Platoon Leader, The Mission Continues Killeen Platoon. "We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Rainbow Heart Studio, Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce, The Art & More Store, Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful and the numerous volunteers for their dedication and support in bringing this project to life."

Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful was established in 2002 by the Copperas Cove City Council, said the City. Its mission is to "empower and educate citizens while enhancing the environment of Copperas Cove." More information on KCCB can be found at copperascovetx.gov/kccb.

The City of Copperas Cove says The Mission Continues Killeen Platoon is a nonprofit organization that deploys veteran volunteers to work alongside nonprofit partners and community leaders to improve educational resources, tackle food insecurity, foster neighborhood identity and more.
