Community gears up for household hazardous waste collection event on May 4th

The event will take place at the Killeen Special Events Center located at 3301 South WS Young Dr. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

KILLEEN, Texas — Killeen residents are urged to mark their calendars for the upcoming Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event scheduled for May 4. 

The event will take place at the Killeen Special Events Center located at 3301 South WS Young Dr. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This initiative provides an opportunity for responsible disposal of various household hazardous materials. Residents residing in Bell, Coryell, Hamilton, Lampasas, Milam, Mills and San Saba counties are encouraged to participate in this community-driven event.

Accepted items for disposal include fluorescent bulbs, acids, antifreeze, petroleum products, household cleaners, used oils, pesticides, paints, batteries, and other chemicals—all free of charge.

Residents planning to attend are reminded to bring proof of residency to ensure eligibility for the disposal services.
