City of Waco breaks ground on new fire station

City officials braved the cold on Jan. 9 to break ground on Waco's newest fire station.

WACO, Texas — Officials from the City of Waco and Waco Fire Department braved the cold and wind on Tuesday, Jan. 9 to celebrate the groundbreaking of Waco's newest fire station, Fire Station #15.

Located at 10905 Panther Way, the City of Waco said the new station will help the Fire Department maintain the national standard of getting the first fire truck on scene within six minutes from the time a caller dials 911.

Fire Station #15 will also help to serve a rapidly developing area in Waco, said the City, and will increase fire protection for residents.

According to the City of Waco, construction on the new station is scheduled to be completed in 2025.
