City of Temple hosting Secure Document Shred event April 20

Residents can bring up to five bankers boxes of documents to shred to dispose of sensitive information.

TEMPLE, Texas — The City of Temple is offering residents a chance to safely dispose of sensitive documents at a Secure Document Shred event on Saturday, April 20.

According to the City, residents can bring up to five bankers boxes of documents to be shredded free of charge.

The event will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic High School, located at 6608 W. Adams Ave. in Temple from 9-11 a.m.

The City said shredding secure documents, such as personal identification numbers, financial records or other sensitive data, can ensure that sensitive information is disposed of properly and "destroyed beyond recognition", which can help prevent criminals from stealing identities or misusing information.

In addition, the City said recycling paper can also have environmental impacts such as reducing waste and minimizing the need for new paper production, as new products can be made from recycled materials like old documents.
