City of Temple accepting Walk of Fame nominations

The program honors outstanding community members who have demonstrated "unwavering commitment" to youth and adult softball and baseball programs in Temple.

TEMPLE, Texas — Do you someone who has made an impact on baseball or softball in Temple? Here's your chance to pitch their names to the City for some recognition.

The City of Temple is now accepting nominations for its Walk of Fame program, which honors outstanding community members who have stepped up to the plate and demonstrated "unwavering commitment" to youth and adult softball and baseball programs in Temple.

According to the City, the program recognizes people from various roles, including players, coaches, mentors, sponsors, volunteers and more.

Temple residents can nominate those who meet the qualifications for the program, and a dedicated committee will review and vote on the nominations to determine the inductees for the year.

No more than five people per category can be inducted each year, according to the City.

An induction ceremony is held each year to celebrate and honor the new members of the Walk of Fame. During the event, honorees are presented with an award and a commemorative engraved brick is placed at the entrance to either the baseball or softball complex for which the person is inducted.

"The City of Temple values the dedication of community members to the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork," said the City of Temple in a release. "The Walk of Fame stands as a lasting tribute to those who have played a vital role in shaping the sporting landscape of our city."
