Central Texas Veterans Health Care System hosting mobile food pantry distribution in Temple on May 30

Food assistance is reportedly free and open to anyone in need in the Temple community.

TEMPLE, Texas — The Central Texas Veterans Health Care System is doing its part to help the Temple community recover from severe storms by hosting a "special mobile food pantry distribution" by the Central Texas Food Bank on Thursday, May 30.

The organization said the event will be held at the Olin E. Teague VA Medical Center, located at 1901 Veterans Memorial Drive, from 10-11 a.m., and is open to veterans and "anyone in the community in need of food".

No ID is required at the distribution, said the organization, and no one will be turned away. Food assistance is free and community members are encouraged to bring carts or reusable bags to take food home with them.

Central Texas Veterans Health Care System says the Central Texas Food Bank also conducts regular monthly mobile food distributions at VA facilities in Waco, Temple, Austin and Killeen.
