'It's more than I ever dreamed of' | Cameron woman moves into new home after allegedly being scammed

Diane Yates says it's all possible because of a man who happened to be watching 6 News at the right time.

CAMERON, Texas — Diane Yates has waited months for her home to be repaired ever since she claimed Brendan Myers started renovations.

However, he left the project unfinished in March, leaving Yates with a barely livable and unfinished home.

"I was born in the old days where you trust people," Yates said. "Since my husband passed away, it's just hard for me to keep up with things. You know, he always made decisions for me."

Myers' actions had left Yates out of $60,000 and even has him in trouble with authorities.

"I cried every night," she said.

However, Yates still had hope. She reached out to 6 News in May, not knowing what to expect.

Odes Foster with T&O Services saw her story and immediately wanted to help.

"It's just a God's blessing that Odes and his wife Tina saw me by accident on KCEN," Yates said. "He said, 'I told my wife Tina, we've got to help this lady.' The next day he called me, he said, 'If I don't make a penny back, it's okay.'"

"When God tells you to do something, you just gotta jump up and do it," Foster told 6 News in a previous interview.

Yates is now living in her home and cries tears of joy. It's everything she prayed for.

"It's more than I ever dreamed of," Yates said. "When I walked in the house, and my furniture was here and all my belongings, I was just overwhelmed. I just started crying. It had to be God."

Myers turned himself into the Milam County Sheriff's Department in July, and was since indicted on multiple theft charges. His pre-trial hearing is Thursday, Feb. 8.
