Burn Ban lifted in McLennan County

Citizens are still encouraged to use "extreme caution" when outdoor burning as parts of the county are still dry.

MCLENNAN COUNTY, Texas — A burn ban has been lifted in McLennan County as of Sept. 24, the County has announced.

According to McLennan County, Judge Scott M. Felton, as authorized by the McLennan County Commissioners Court, lifted the "Order Prohibiting Outdoor Burning" in the county due to rainfall and "potential for rainfall".

Although the order is lifted, McLennan County is still urging residents to use "extreme caution" when outdoor burning as parts of the county are reportedly still dry.

According to the McLennan County website, the county does have a Red Flag Warning Burn Ban Order in place, banning any burning in unincorporated parts of the county when a Red Flag Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service.
