KILLEEN, Texas — The Boys and Girls Club of Central Texas is celebrating the completion of its Phase 2 expansion with a Grand Opening Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony on Friday, March 1.

According to the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce, representatives from the chamber and members of the community will gather at the facility, located at 703 N. 8th St. in downtown Killeen, at 11:30 a.m. to celebrate the grand opening.

According to the Chamber of Commerce, the newest add-on includes the opening of the McLaurin-Boyd Family Clubhouse Gymnasium, which, after the ribbon-cutting, will be the site of an inaugural basketball game between the Killeen Police Department and teens from the Boys and Girls Club at 12:30 p.m.

According to the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce, the program will mark the first full-fledged counseling center within a Boys and Girls Club facility nationwide.
