TEMPLE, Texas — A Temple business is doing its part to help feed the community in the aftermath of severe storms on Wednesday, May 22.
Bold Republic Brewing Company is hosting a BYOG (Bring Your Own Grill) event on May 23, inviting the community to come and eat for free in the wake of storm damage and power outages.
Bold Republic said their groceries will perish as many areas are still without power, and would rather feed their neighbors and first responders.
The business says they have "plenty of food that needs to be cooked" and are "happy to pitch in during this difficult time."
The staff will reportedly be at the business, located at 7070 Stonehollow Road in Temple, from 1-8 p.m. "pouring up beer and cooking". Guests are invited to bring their own grills or be served by the staff.
Running water and drinks are reportedly available, and the playground is reportedly "sound and dry".
"We will rebuild," said the company in a post on social media. "We are better together. Our motto is community over consumption and we mean it!"
Bold Republic said they have had other restaurants offer food as well, and have invited everyone that "if you have, please bring it and we'll cook it".
Bold Republic said they will keep going as long as is needed or until they run out of food, although they will close at dark for safety because they are still without power.
