COPPERAS COVE, Texas — A boil water notice has been issued for parts of Copperas Cove after a water main break on Nov. 7, the City has announced.
According to the City of Copperas Cove, pressure loss from a water main break on S. FM 116 on Nov. 7 caused the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to advise residents to boil their water before using until further notice.
The affected areas are:
- 1400-1600 Blocks of S. FM 116
- 1500-1800 Blocks of Pleasant Lane
- 1000-1100 Blocks of Randa Street
- 1100 Block of Deorsam Drive
- 1100 Block of Carlton Drive
- All of Brown Drive
To ensure the destruction of harmful bacteria and other microbes, the TCEQ recommends residents bring water to a "vigorous, rolling boil" and let boil for two minutes before allowing to cool and using.
The City of Copperas Cove said it will let residents know when water is safe to use and it is no longer necessary to boil.
