Boil Water Notice rescinded for part of San Saba

City officials say the issue that caused the boil water notice has been corrected, and water is safe to consume without needing to be boiled.

SAN SABA, Texas — A Boil Water Notice for Community Public Water Systems has been issued in San Saba, Texas on June 24, according to the City of San Saba. As of Wednesday, June 26, the boil notice has been lifted.

The notice was initially issued due to a loss of pressure, which made their public works department unable to maintain the minimum standard of water pressure required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

City officials say they've corrected the issue by increasing the chlorine dosage and flushing mains in the affected areas in order to sanitize the water from any contaminants present in the water as well as filling the tank and lines to "achieve pressure greater than minimum standards."

Tests for E.coli and Total Coliform were also done, according to the city, and came back negative.
