Belton Fire Department begins Toys for Tots drive

The drive helps deliver gifts of toys or books to disadvantaged children.

BELTON, Texas — Tis the season!

The Belton Fire Department and Belton CERT have begun collecting donations for Toys for Tots.

The Marine Toys for Tots Program, run by the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, is meant to collect new toys and books to give as gifts to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas.

The program reportedly collects and delivers the toys to local coordinators, as well as assisting them with promotions or finances for the drive.

Belton FD said they are accepting donations though Dec. 8.

Donations can be dropped off at Belton Fire Station 2, located at 420 Sparta Rd. in Belton, from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, or at Extraco Bank, located at 2000 N. Main St. in Belton, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Fridays or 9 a.m.-12p.m. Saturdays.

Those who would like to register as a recipient of the toys can do so at toysfortots.org.
