Volunteers keeping Killeen parks clean through Adopt-A-Park program

Killeen's Parks and Recreation Department says the City's Adopt-A-Park Program is thriving, with over 20 groups having adopted parks so far.

KILLEEN, Texas — Local volunteer groups are leading the way to keep City of Killeen parks clean. Revive Killeen is one of over 20 groups that have volunteered to keep a designated park clean through the City's Adopt-A-Park program.

In the program, the City provides all materials including safety vests and trash bags for groups to go to their chosen parks to pick up litter.

6 News observed Fox Creek Park on Feb. 7 and neighbors who spoke with 6 News said they were happy with how clean the park was.

The City of Killeen has online applications for groups ready to volunteer for the Adopt-A-Park program. The application, along with more information about the program, can be found on the City of Killeen Parks and Recreation website.
