COPPERAS COVE, Texas — Saturday is the annual Pink Warrior Angels run that will be happening in Copperas Cove, the local non-profit supports those fighting cancer and their families across Central Texas.
Julie Moser is a founder of Pink Warrior Angels, helping start the organization in 2017 while in remission from her breast cancer diagnosis. She said the organization provides all kinds of financial support for all patients following their diagnoses with the disease.
“To honor those that we’ve lost and to celebrate those that are here and have been through it and support the ones that are going through it," Moser said.
The race will start at 8 a.m. on Saturday at City Park in Copperas Cove, and runners are encouraged to wear the colors of their cancer patient, or family member they're running for.
The organization is also partnering with Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful (KCCB) as they will host their Fall Sweep clean up event simultaneously and following the race.
"It's a win-win of community partners working together for one cause which is providing awareness and service in our community," said Roxanne Flores, executive director of Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful.
Registration on Saturday for the event is $30. There will also be vendors at the event and all money raised will go towards the Pink Warrior Angels organization to help assist those in need during the times of cancer treatment, and their families.
