TEMPLE, Texas — A group of volunteers from Bell County met at the Hawkeye Shooting Academy in Temple Saturday to say a word of prayer before heading out to search for missing persons Jenna Scott and Michael Swearingin.
The pair have been missing since Jan. 4.
"A lot of anxiety," Richie Davis, a volunteer who said he has known Jenna and Michael for more than 10 years, said. "And a lot of mystery. It's very surreal, honestly. It's a week later and it really still hasn't sunk in."
Davis led a search group through the Arrowhead Point area of Lake Belton.
"We are kind of narrowing down all bodies of water, pastures, fields, trails-- anything related to that, fairly often," Davis said.
Groups divided to search several spots across Bell County, including one group that drove down Hwy. 95 from Killeen toward Georgetown.
"Right now, it's almost like a wild goose chase," Davis said. "We don't know where we need to look, but we are starting somewhere and creating a radius, and we're going to spread out from here."
