City of Waco to conduct disparity study to ensure non-discriminatory business practices

The city has commissioned MGT Consulting to help conduct the study.

WACO, Texas — The City of Waco has commissioned MGT Consulting to conduct a disparity study on how the city does business.

Multiple sessions will be held across Nov. 1 and 2 at the Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce at 915 LaSalle Ave.

The study is reportedly meant to research how the city conducts business in both the public and private sector, and determine if there is any business discrimination in those practices.

Multiple focus groups, facilitated by MGT, will give businesses and contractors the opportunity provide input about the experience of doing business with the City of Waco.

Those in the focus groups will be able to provide feedback and recommendations for future changes to the City's purchasing process, all in an attempt to make all areas of the city more equitable.

The session schedule is as follows, and people are encouraged to sign up for their corresponding industry:

-Tuesday, Nov. 1, 9 a.m.-11 a.m.: Trade Associations, Chambers AGC, Minority Advocacy Groups

-Tuesday, Nov. 1, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.: Professional Service, Other Services, and Goods
