TEMPLE, Texas — 'On the Go Coffee Co' opened their coffee trailer Oct. 19 in Temple serving Central Texans specialty coffee and pastries on-the-go.
The owner, Josh Putman, told 6 News each day, business picks up more and more. It took him and his wife Katie Putman about five months to open the trailer and they want to bring something unique to the Temple community.
"We both just really love coffee and we're both into coffee," Josh Putman explained. "My brother in law owns 'Fat Boys BBQ' which we're in the parking lot of. We just decided it would be fun to serve the community with good coffee."
Putman explained that the business is family owned and use locally grown coffee beans to make their delicious coffee. For pastries, they buy them from a local bakery in the Temple area.
"They have a great breakfast and frozen espressos are great too," Customer Joe Watkins said. "It's a very unique place and they're all friendly. Everybody knows your name."
According to their website, Josh Putman is a former Air Force member, and Katie is currently a 5th-grade teacher.
They were raised in families where coffee was a cherished tradition, so they wanted to create a welcoming space for their community to enjoy together. The website says when they’re not at the shop, they love spending time with their nieces, nephews, and their two cats and two dogs
The hope for the Putmans' is for the community to support them so they can have long standing success like bigger companies nationwide.
"It's good to have locally owned businesses that can strive in communities," Josh Putman said. "You still got the small man doing good things."
Some of their most ordered drinks include the 'Harmony Latte' and 'Caramel Bliss'.
