Magnolia reopening June 1 with additional health, safety measures

The new measures will be implemented at all of Magnolia's properties, with some providing additional business-specific guidelines.

WACO, Texas — Magnolia announced that it will reopen its facilities to visitors on June 1 with additional health and safety measures in accordance with the City of Waco and the state guidelines.

In a blog post on the Magnolia website, the company outlined its reopening plan and changes that will be implemented when the Magnolia facilities reopen. The changes include:

  • No more than 50% capacity inside buildings
  • Staff will wear masks and gloves
  • Continual cleaning, including a deep clean each night
  • Single-use menus
  • Floor markers to encourage social distancing
  • One-way flow through buildings when possible
  • Reduced seating

Here are the details on how these changes will be implemented:

Distancing

Magnolia said they will place floor indicators that allow "over 6 feet" of separation while guests enter buildings, are at the registers inside and waiting outside.

Capacity

Employees will monitor the number of guests entering buildings and ensure there is no more than 50% of the building's capacity entering at one time. At Silos Baking Co. they will ensure there are no more than five groups entering at one time.

Masks & Gloves

Team members will wear masks and will wear gloves while preparing orders. The company said it is requiring members to wear new gloves at the start of the shift and be switched out multiple times throughout the day.

Employee Health

Magnolia said it will follow state guidelines for screening employees prior to work. That includes a daily exposure and health questionnaire and infrared temperature checks upon arrival.

Hand Washing

At the start of every shift, employees are required to wash their hands and continue to wash their hands routinely throughout their shift. Visitors will have access to soap and water in the bathrooms and hand sanitizer at different points throughout the property.

Continual Cleaning

Buildings will be deep cleaned every night. High touch areas like door handles, railings, tables and chairs will be sanitized throughout the day.

Contactless Payment

The company said it has made contactless payment available to visitors using credit cards, except those dining at Magnolia Table.

Additional guidelines at specific properties include:

Magnolia Table

The restaurant made its menu available online and will have single-use menus for guests. Employees will hold off placing flatware, cups, and napkins on the tables until guests are seated. Seating is arranged to ensure social distancing.

Silos Baking Co.

The menu is available online. Orders will be taken outside the front door of the bakery. Payment processing and order pick up will take place once the guest is inside the building. Guests will no longer fill out an order card. The bakery patio is spaced out to ensure proper distancing protocols. Additional seating options will be available in the courtyard in front of the Market.

Magnolia Press Coffee Co.

The coffee shop will be enforcing a one-way flow through the building. The front door on Webster Avenue will function as an entrance-only space. The backdoor that opens to the patio will serve as the main exit. The walk-up window on the back patio will serve those who have placed call-ahead orders. Half of the chairs in the indoor seating space have been removed to ensure social distancing.

Magnolia Market

The front doors will serve as entrance only and the exit in the historic grain barn as an exit only. Guests are allowed to freely shop inside the Market, and employees will ensure the capacity inside the building does not exceed 50%. Registers will also be spaced out to provide distance between visitors checking out.

Magnolia Vacation Rentals

Cleaning protocols for Magnolia's three vacation rentals have been "enhanced." In addition to routine cleanings before a guest arrives, they are providing with disposable masks, hand sanitizer and gloves.
