National Non-Profit Seeks to Help Central Texans

Caregiver Safe Place Provides a Caregiver Day Off

TEMPLE, Texas — In 2019, Carletta Cole founded a non-profit organization called Caregiver Safe Place. Its motto is, "caring for those who care for others." Cole founded the non-profit organization because of her own experience as a caregiver.

"I had a loved one, my mom. Which I took care of for four years. She had Parkinson's and dementia," said Cole.

The mission of Caregiver Safe Place is straight forward, it provides much needed rest and recuperation for caregivers. Having operated in four states already, Cole is looking to bring the non-profit organization's aid to Texas.

"Seeing that I was burned out and I didn't have the resources that I needed, I created the resources," said Cole.

These resources include golfing, haircuts, staycations, and spa and massage packages. Caregiver Safe Place even provides a caretaker in the place of the primary caretaker while that person is on their Caregiver's Day Out.

Caregiver Safe Place encourages any caregivers to reach out for a Caregiver's Day Out and encourages local Central Texas business to contact the non-profit organization if they are interested in donating their services for caregivers.
