Pet reclaim fees waived through July 13 at Waco Animal Shelter

If your pet was lost in Waco, you can visit online or in person to see if they have been picked up.

WACO, Texas — Are you missing any of your pets? Don't worry, the Waco Animal Shelter is offering a chance to reunite with them for free.

Through July 13, the City of Waco has waived all reclaim fees for pets in the Waco city limits.

If your pet is missing, the City says you can see if they have been picked up as a stray by visiting online at LostPetsWaco.com or in person at the shelter, located at 2032 Circle Rd. in Waco.

"We know pets can get loose (especially around the 4th of July), and we want to make sure everyone's furry best friend makes it home to their family!" said the City of Waco in a post on social media.

According to the City, strays are put on a 72-hour hold when they are brought in to give their family time to find them.

Reclaim fees typically include an impound fee of $60 for the first time, $75 for the second time and $150 for the third time, said the City, plus a $15 per day boarding fee, $65 if the dog is not spayed/neutered and $30 for vaccines.
