Robinson Police Sergeant honored for saving infant's life

Sergeant Mike Noel was recently recognized for saving the life of a choking infant.

ROBINSON, Texas โ€” A Robinson Police Sergeant has earned his third award for accomplishing one of the greatest acts of all, saving a life.

Sergeant Mike Noel was presented his third lifesaving award at a Robinson City Council meeting on Sept. 3, in honor of him saving an infant from choking.

On July 29, Noel was the first responding officer to a 911 call about an infant choking, the City of Robinson said. Noel reportedly found the infant unresponsive and not breathing.

Noel took "immediate action", the City said, dislodging the object blocking the infant's airway with multiple strikes to his back.

Thanks to Noel's actions, the infant started breathing on his own and was taken care of by medical personnel who had arrived to the scene.

"Sgt. Noel's quick and decisive actions undoubtedly saved the infant's life and afforded the opportunity for a full recovery," the City of Robinson said in a social media post congratulating Noel for his actions.
