'He pointed it right at his face, it was intense' | Road rage incident caught on camera in Temple

People who witnessed the interaction are now urging aggressive drivers to make better decisions.

TEMPLE, Texas — Central Texans are urging aggressive drivers to make better decisions when they are behind the wheel after a shocking road rage scene was caught on camera.

This happened on 31st Street near Azalea Drive just days before Christmas on Thursday, Dec. 21.

It is unclear what led up to the series of events, but Little-River Academy resident, London Harris saw everything unfold and captured it all. In the video, viewers can see one man pointing a gun at another man's head.

"I was just trying to pull out of the gas station, and it was on the busy 31st Street," Harris said. "Something happened, and they stopped right in front of us. The guy had gotten out of his truck and walked to the back of the white truck in the video. The guy in the car behind him got out and walked up to him and had a gun and just pointed it right at his face. They kept going back and forth. It was intense. You know, you don't know what's going to happen any second."

Another third party witness called the Temple Police Department to the scene.

"The third party was unable to provide license plates for either vehicle and could only provide descriptions," Megan Price, Public Relations Coordinator for the Temple Police Department, said. "Officers attempted to locate the vehicles but were unsuccessful. Neither of the parties involved in the incident called the police."

No injuries were reported, but the thought of lives almost being ruined in a matter of seconds is something that haunts Harris.

"So many people could have been injured or killed with a random bullet flying through the air," Harris said. "It just goes to show that it doesn't matter where you live. Anything can happen."

Harris hopes drivers can be more calm in the future.

"One decision to be aggressive could literally injure your life," Harris added. "Not just your life but your entire family's life would be destroyed. You don't need to risk someone else's life over a little disagreement on the road."

Temple Police understand you can't control other people's behavior, but you can control how you react.

They encourage drivers not to engage or make eye contact with the aggressor. Do not confront them or get out of your car. If you need to, take an alternate route to your destination.

If you are experiencing an aggressive driver on the road, Temple Police encourage you to call 911.

Make sure to give officers plate numbers and a location, so they can do their best to track the aggressor down.
