BELTON, Texas — A Belton ISD principal has earned a special distinction.
Kris Hobson, principal of Lake Belton Middle School, has been selected as the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) Region 12 Outstanding Middle School Principal of the Year, the district announced.
"This esteemed award recognizes Hobson's outstanding leadership and dedication to creating a positive and effective learning environment for each and every student," the district said in a release.
According to BISD, Hobson has been an "integral member" of the Lake Belton Middle School leadership team for 13 years, having served as principal since 2014.
During his time at LBMS, Hobson has "introduced innovative programs, fostered a strong school culture and maintained an unwavering dedication to student achievement," said the district.
BISD said Hobson is "widely respected for inspiring students and staff, earning praise for his innovative approach and commitment to excellence."
“Kris Hobson embodies the commitment and passion that we aspire to reach in Belton ISD,” said Ben Smith, Belton ISD Executive Director of Campus Leadership for Secondary Campuses. “This award is a reflection of the profound impact he has made on our students, staff and the entire community. We are extremely proud of his accomplishments and the lasting difference he continues to make in our students' lives.”
“I am deeply honored to receive this recognition,” said Hobson. “It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, staff and parents. Together, we have built a school where every child is valued and has the opportunity to reach their full potential.”
Hobson will reportedly be recognized for the achievement alongside Middle School Principals of the Year from other regions.
