KILLEEN, Texas — A Killeen firefighter was recently honored for going above and beyond while off-duty this July, saving a life in the process.
On July 3, Captain Christopher Poston of the Killeen Fire Department saved the life of a Cedar Park firefighter's husband by performing CPR, which restored his breathing and pulse before emergency responders arrived, said KFD.
In recognition for his actions, Poston was recently presented with the Killeen Fire Department Life Saving Award, the Cedar Park Fire Department Life Saving Award and a Cedar Park Phoenix Award.
While administering CPR, Poston was reportedly assisted by former Killeen firefighter Justin Jackson, who now works for the Cedar Park Fire Department, according to KFD.
"Please join us in recognizing [Poston and Jackson's] teamwork, dedication and commitment to saving lives!" said Killeen FD in a post on social media.
