Belton man turning up the heat in national grilling competition

Esterling Rosario is one of seven finalists in the final round of LongHorn Steakhouse's Steak Master Series!

BELTON, Texas — A Belton man is turning up the heat in a national grilling competition, and the steaks have never been higher.

Esterling Rosario of the Temple LongHorn Steakhouse team is one of seven finalists set to compete in the final round of LongHorn Steakhouse's annual Steak Master Series competition!

The Steak Master Series is a national competition that gives LongHorn Grill Masters from across the country a chance to put their skills to the test and face off for a chance to win a $15,000 grand prize and the title of Steak Master Series Champion.

Out of thousands of participants, Rosario has earned a spot among only seven finalists. It is reportedly his first time as a finalist.

“I first started cooking in Puerto Rico in 2001, and I’ve always liked grilling steaks,” said Rosario. “The competition has been a lot of pressure, but knowing how proud my restaurant team is of me has made it easier.”

LongHorn Steakhouse said Esterling has been a part of their team for 23 years. They said his career goals are to become a Culinary Professional, help open a new restaurant location and be a better cook.

The final grill-off will be held in Orlando, Florida on May 2.
