The new Magnolia Table sign went up Friday at the former Elite Café, which was purchased by Waco-based 'Fixer Upper' couple Chip and Joanna Gaines.
The nearly 100-year-old icon closed in February 2016 and was acquired by the Gaines' company Magnolia. The Gaines family used to enjoy Sunday brunches at the Elite Café and wanted the site to continue offering memories to other families.

"Our hope is that when you step into this place, you know that everyone has a seat at our table,” Joanna previously said.
The restaurant was originally slated to open by the end of 2017, but delays have pushed it back. However, Chip and Joanna have indicated on social media that it should open in the not-so-distant future. No exact date was publicly announced.
Joanna recently shared a photo of the floors being installed inside the eatery.
