TEMPLE, Texas — “When we are broken we need Jesus and we need friendship,” community member Kay Hirrill said.
Everyone in attendance did practice social distancing by standing in their cars. Anyone who wanted to attend was welcomed.
“God has said where two or more are gathered I will be there and I think that we are afraid we are broken and everyone needs some joy and some reassurance that we are going to get through this” Hirrill said. “We are there to respect also and we are at a hospital where people are very broken, losing family members, and we need to be most importantly respectful of what our government and what our local officials have mandated us to do with social distancing”
If you were unable to join in person, Hirrill said to join in your home, in your car, in the break room at your work, wherever you can to support those struggling.
Organizers received about 1300 prayer requests.
