KILLEEN, Texas — "She really does this job really because she loves it. It's not that she does it for the money. She does it for the kids," said Clifton Park Elementary School Principal Jennifer Carranza of Terri Lockhart.
Lockhart is a United States Army Veteran who works at Clifton Park Elementary School as a crossing guard. It is a job she does with her own unique flair.
"She sometimes wears costumes," said one Clifton Park Elementary School 5th-grader.
"I love to dress up. My kids love it when I dress up. Halloween. Christmas. So it really comes from them. So why can't mom dress up with them. And why does it have to be Halloween and Christmas? Why can't it be all year long?" said Lockhart.
When 6 News visited the Clifton Park Elementary School Campus, Lockhart had chosen a jaguar costume for the day.
She said her costumes and accompanying attitude rubs off on the adults as well as the students.
"She stopped and she said just don't know what a big difference you made for me. Because I'm in my...she was in her darkest moments," said Lockhart.
Another 5th grade student spoke to 6 News about how the love from the crosswalk comes inside to the hallways off the school.
"My favorite thing about Miss T is how she is always kind to student," said the student.
